Using Water That Is Too Hot

Green tea is delicate and should be steeped in water that is around 170°F (76°C). Using water that is too hot can cause the tea to become bitter and astringent. If the water is too hot, it can also destroy some of the beneficial compounds in the tea.

To avoid this issue, be sure to use water that is around 170°F (76°C) when steeping your green tea. If you're not sure what temperature your water is, you can use a thermometer or let the water cool for a few minutes after boiling.

Storing The Tea Incorrectly

Green tea should be stored in a cool, dry place away from light, moisture, and strong odors. If green tea is stored incorrectly, it can absorb odors from its surroundings, which can impact the flavor.

To avoid this issue, store your green tea in an airtight container in a cool, dry place away from light and moisture. Avoid storing your tea near strong-smelling foods or spices. 

The Right Way of Making Green Tea

We have tried preparing Green Tea in two different ways, which we are sharing here.

Mild-Smooth

STEPS

1. Get 10 oz filtered water and bring it to boil.

2. Remove the water from boiling and let it sit for 1 min so it cools down to about 195 F.

3. Add about 1 teaspoon of leaves into a clear glass or in your Steeping cup.

4. Pour the hot water into your clear glass or steeping cup containing tea buds.

5. Let it steep for 2-3 minutes.

6. The color is light golden. Strain and enjoy every sip of it.

7. Repeat for second infusion.

 

Robust Energizing

Steps

1. Get 10 oz filtered water and bring it to boil.

2. Remove the water from boiling and let it sit for 1 min so it cools down to about 195 F.

3. Add about 1.5 or 2 teaspoon of leaves into a clear glass or in your Steeping cup.

4. Pour the hot water into your clear glass or steeping cup containing tea leaves.

5. Let it steep for 3 minutes.

6. The color is bright golden. Strain and enjoy every sip of it.

7. Repeat for second infusion, add 1 min steep time.
